THANDIZWA MAZWAI

This body of work was developed as a visual companion to ‘Sankofa’, a recently released album by Thandiswa Mazwai - an artist renowned for her powerful articulation of African identity, ancestry, and spiritual reclamation. The project was guided by Thandiswa’s deep interest in exploring the layered meanings of African consciousness: past, present, and future. She invited us to co-visualize her ideas, which touch on ancient traditions, technological sovereignty, spiritual memory, and pan-African pride.
